New Fish ladder

Posted by Aaron Moses:   At the Thompson Falls Dam in Montana, a 7.5 million dollar fish passage was built primarily for bull trout. This passage is not like a fish ladder, but more like a lock system that is similar to those used in the Panama Canal for boats. They built this passage so that it would be easier for the bull trout to get past the damn to spawn. This pool they will use to elevate the fish up the passage will also be an essential tool to obtain genetics and to radio track bull trout to get a better understanding of their migration patterns and genetics.
